Missing harbor AI?
« on: August 28, 2010, 13:34:33 »

Just browsing through various posts and have been looking at this sim for some time. Whenever pics are posted, there appear to be little to no AI traffic. While I would certainly love to pilot a ship from the confines of a harbor, I would also like the challenge of avoiding other vessels. Does this simulator allow you to tweak the amount of AI traffic, as FSX does via a slider, or is it only scripted AI contained within specific missions?

Thanks in advance.

Nope, there's no slider.. there's simply hardly any AI traffic in the missions.. from what I just read in another topic is that this has been reduced because of the hit in framerates (add this to a long list of other things they reduced)..

I'm seriously thinking about asking for a refund, there's so little they actually delivered compared to the money we paid..

It was a combination of high memory use and low framerate that made us decide to reduce the AI traffic. We are currently working on a solution, which will come out in a patch within a few weeks.

There's quite a few things left out because of the lower framerates though, it is a bit saddening because the expectations were higher.. oh well, I'll just wait on to the patches :)

I think it's better to have love amount of AI so all can play the game, instead to have allot of AI then wee need a power PC to play

IMHO it would've better if we would have a slider, like for example they have in the flight simulators, where you can set the amount/percentage of AI ships (or something similar). That way you can control it completely yourself how much you will have while still being able to play with AI. That way nobody would have to suffer the lack of AI if they didn't want and completely fine-tune the game to their wishes while looking at the framerates.
