Snail Post?
« on: August 27, 2010, 13:32:53 »

Dear Moderators and Businessmen of VSTEP

Its wonderful to see all those guys playing the game and writing in the forum anything they encounter.

Basically I was a fool when I trusted what was said here, the CD will arrive on the same day as the game starts on the web. I ordered and payed the CD on the 10.08.2010 so VSTEP had my money for some weeks now (and despite of that the money from a lot of us).

But until now nothing happened. The Normal post is through, DPD is through, GLS and UPS bye nice seeing you....Nothing came to me!! And I don't live in the middle of nowhere, I live in the second biggest city in Germany this little town is called Hamburg. So what takes so long? All these Company's want deliver on Saturdays so I have to wait until at least Monday to get what I paid for weeks ago.

So, why do you guys just don't provide people that have paid weeks ago with a download link and a serial key. You can easily approve the account and see that it was payed.

Now that is what I would call customer care. Have a nice weekend.

Hi Diego,

As you probably know, VSTEP isn't responsible for the whole chain, from the factory where the DVDs are packed, to your own mailbox.

As you probably know too, sometimes shipping society can take one, two, or even more days longer to deliver goods, than it was initially planned.

The fact that people received their copies of the game today shows you that everything has been made from VSTEP side so that the games are delivered in time. Can you imagine how impossible it could be, to deliver thousands of items, in several countries in the world (which means several distributors, several transport companies, and so on), the same day ??

About your request for a download link, I don't think that it's possible neither. For a very good reason : NO ONE can tell what your license key is. Your licence key is only written in the box beeing shipped to you, but until you receive your box, noone can tell which is this number.

The only way to be asolutely sure you would have had the game today, as it has been stated several times in the forum, would have been to choose the download version.

I'm very sorry if you're disappointed, and I can understand that. But please don't blame VSTEP about that !

regards,

Denis

edit : Adam : you can't beat me, I'm quick as EVIL !! Mouahahahahahahahah !

Hi Diego,

I am sorry to hear you have not received the game as of yet. However there are many factors that will play a part in getting the game to you. Once the CD is printed and shipped, it is out of control of VSTEP and into the hands of your postal service.

Also regarding your mention of the download and license key. If you wanted the game this way, why not simply purchase the download version of the game? This would then eliminate any postal delivery and you would get to play the game much quicker ;)

Edit: Denis you beat me to it again! ;D

Hi Diego138
I understand you feel let down but V-step are not to blame they can only send out
the order they are not responsable for the delivery time to buyer this is up to post/carrier
shipping order placed with.
V-Step are developers not the publishers

Well all I can say is that you'll just have to wait

I'm sure you all understand the complications of delivering a game on a particular date as Denis already mentioned.

If people were concerned about the delivery times, a download version would have eliminated any delivery issues :)

Thx guys for answering. I can imagine that it is difficult, I run a business myself with a guaranteed delivery within 48 hours (Austria-Germany). And from lets say 1000 deliveries we have one failure. AND I would have bought the download version if it hadn't be stated by moderators of this forum that you can assure that the CD will arrive the same day. Unfortunately you removed these statements as they where in the poll have I bought pre order or not.

Anyway I want be crying about that, just another reminder for the future to wait until its in the stores when it comes to new products. The flightsim industry also catches up money for products that are not finished or are full of avoidable bugs. I hope when it arrives next week its free of major bugs or it will land in the trash can. Have a nice weekend.

Bye
Diego
