`Red Sails in the Sunset`

It was fun while it lasted, but it looks like yours truly may be something of `a square peg in a round hole`.

Without debating the merits or otherwise of what was after all simply a VERY MILD joke, it seems to me that the repercussions thereof were/are ridiculously out of proportion.  This sort of situation says to me that `the whole shebang` is really just not worth the hassle.

I do find it a little disconcerting that an `elder of the tribe` should resort to `oblique references` or `veiled asides` rather than to take an honest direct approach to things.   Also I get the impression that it is MAINLY the youngsters of the forum [though there are exceptions] who remain capable of enjoying a bit of fun.  This probably because our crazy `screwed up` society has not yet completed the `brainwashing` process` on them.

`Traddles and Mad Fred`.  You have both afforded me help, advice, and courtesy. For this I thank you once again.  Also, you have both demonstrated the aforementioned honest and direct approach to things, and this is something which I can respect and admire.   I hope you carry on the good work !

`Clanky`. You are an extremely interesting bloke and I have very much enjoyed our exchanges.

`IRISH JACK` You `come across` as a pleasant and decent young man. I have enjoyed our exchanges and `thanks for the fun`.  I wish you well in your exams and for your future.  Take care !

I think I shall now just hang around `hull down` for a while, and keep an eye on the climate. [including the one of `political correctness`].

Tread very carefully friends, you never know who`s going to sue you next, nor for what !!!

Regards,
Ken.

PS:- I`m sure that Marty will understand the `Red Sails in the Sunset` bit.

PS :-   `RED` sometimes signifies `angry`, though in this case it simply means `a little annoyed` !
