Jesus...realtime AIS in the game...that would be nuts. I can picture it on a small scale like in one of the ports...but not in say the Atlantic Ocean. And plus, where would they go if they "departed?" Haha...

We'll wait and see in 10 years. ;)

well once they're out of range of the station they'll disappear anyway

I'd like real-life weather though, where it's actually the weather at the place you're sailing in. I think Microsoft did a Flight Simulator X desktop thingy that showed the actual weather.

if all real ships were on ship sim surly that would increase the games specifications. my pc does only just manage to play ship sim in good graphics. but if maby there was a seperate chart that you could pop up with the real ships that would be alot better, so you could depart at the same time as the red jet does or PoR
