why don't you just bribe them with a couple of cigarette boxes? Doesn't that often work?

These days it takes a lot more than a couple of cigarette boxes like 30 to 60 cartons or if they don't smoke they want money. In Nigeria in Lagos expect to loose 10% of all ship's stores. plus any "fines" they can think of like not crossing a "T" or a spelling error in a "very important" document, I kid you not on that one.

Any one who goes to sea these days will end up like me eventually....56 years of age, too old and too stupid to do anything else.

I have 15 months to go before I have enough saved for retirement (just above survival level) and I can't wait! After that the only ships I want to be on are in SHIPSIM 2008!!!  :2thumbs:

Clanky, Slightly off topic but you in the SCC then i used to be between the ages of 11 and 19 now 24 and sailed on the old royalist 4 times and to be hounest i think 70% of the time we used the prop more than sail lol but it was the best experiance of my life and i loved being on here, I I was also in the RNLI for several years and ended up medi vacing 9 cadets from the SCC Power boat John Jerwood as they were all sick as she rolls better than a barrel. Keep up the good work bud  :captain: :captain:

Hi Dave, yeah, I've been on the Jerwood too, I usually spend a few hours calling for Huey on the big white telephone, she really is a pig in any sort of seas.
