Cannot run program..
« on: May 24, 2009, 16:13:14 »

Hi,
Loaded SS2008 on to my new computer running Vista. My previous computer was not powerful enough to run this Sim properly, so it was nice to see it operating as it should. I decided to load the updates all in one go -  600+ MB!
I installed the update, but when I tried to run the program I got following message:
'A channel needed to run this program has incorrect engine version BC7575AA-9655-A67C-D0842BE99718',
I have been unable to fix the problem.
Obviously I can uninstall and reinstall the program - but I don't fancy a LONG update only to be followed by that message.
Is this a known problem, or am I just lucky?

Would appreciate help.

Regards, Terry

Hi Terry,

The first step is to register your serial number in your profile so that you can access the Technical Support section. The bold blue topic at the head of this current board explains where to post various requests.

If you do re-install and update, you should follow the flowchart that you will find in the last post in the bold blue topic at the head of the Technical support board.

If that does not solve the problem, and you do not find a clue by reading some of the other posts, another Terry—currently traveling in Canada—will be along to help you.
Welcome to the forum, and good luck.

Regards,
Marty

I now have another problem;  because I registered earlier on my previous computer, it now won't accept my key - "In use by someone else" = Me!
