The answer is

negative, unless it concerns ShipSim 2006 Professional, where the map is a program separate from the ShipSim2006. Unless of course if there is a way to put the map outside the main screen of ShipSim2008, but I am not sure that it would be possible now?

I know Luc, but I thought it was a step in the right direction to finding an answer. I can't see any way to do it, so I would have to agree with you.
