Hi Thom,

Thanks! :)

By the way, call me dumb, but what is a tender? The only tender I know is the one they use on steam trains ;D

Good idea!

I'll see what I can do. Either a tender on the roof or stern, or perhaps a large box with the tender folded away :)

Hi Rennie,

What has the earthrace boat got to do with my boat? :)

Yeah I already have a radar, but switches and a cup of coffee is a good idea! ;D

Very impressive model,  Good work indeed. I like the tender idea also. How big is the boat?

i don't know if you have already changed it or someone mentioned it. but at one of your first pics, i saw the propeller was sticking out below the hull. as far as i remember this never happens on ships exept for speedboats with external engines.

anyway, the project looks great so far!

Hi Rob,

Thanks! I've only done a little work on it recently, but I'm actually thinking of creating something else, as this vessel is already in existance (P6).

The prop is certainly below the hull, although the aft part of the hull does move up towards the aft bulkhead.

Here's a picture...

ah yes i see.
the reason why props are never sticking out below the hull is because when you are sailing at shallow waters, you don't sail your prop off when hitting the bottom.  ;)

Yes you do have a point there. Perhaps I ought to lower the hull a little and cover the prop? Would this make the vessel too deep though or perhaps the prop too small?

you could raise the stern so the prop fits below it. (see attachment)
