I remember those days. Before the "pirates", the only sources of "pop" music were the occassional sessions by the Beatles and Rolling Stones and a few others on programs such as Workers Playtime, and a Saturday spot that they had.
At night time, on the medium wave, we could listen to Fluff on Radio Luxemburg, as he faded in and out with the atmospherics.
Then the pirates came along and we had day-long pop music. I once won a competition sponsored by VO5, and got to go to Caroline to meet Tony Blackburn. It was very different from the way I'd imagined it!
