Ship Simulator 2008 Collector's Edition
« on: December 14, 2008, 18:05:52 »

Even since June, 2006, I have been a serious Ship Simulator fan. Keeping an eye on the development of Ship Simulator. I bought Ship Simulator 2006 June 15, 2006 when it was released here in Sweden. Also Ship Simulator 2006 Add-On when it was released. I bought Ship Simulator 2008 and Ship Simulator 2008 New Horizons when they were released. Now today on December 14, 2008, I bought Ship Simulator 2008 Collector's Edition and I can't wait to play it :D!! Any Ship Simulator Fan could reply who is just addicted to the Ship Simulator Series just like me :).

Does Ship Simulator 2008 Collector's Edition include the Map Editor and the Server Application?

Map Editor? Enviroments can't be edited, but it does contain the Mission Editor if that's what you mean.. and the server application you have to download seperately.

It's basically just SS08+NH and patched to V1.4.2., in one installment. And then there's a nice 'making of' video, and the Captain's logbook as extra's...

No worries, nothing to apologize for!

Yes, there is a nice list of these things in the manual.  :)

Hang on, I will go and have a look ingame, I forgot if it needed to be shifted or not.

No need for multiple posts, you'll get an answer eventually.

I'll be right back with an update.

It's ok!  :)

You have to use the shift it seems. I just press and hold shift, and then hit the "`" key, next to the 1 key. (this makes a ~ when typing)

And then I enter the code. And that works fine. Does that work for you aswell?

Do you mean the key that makes a ' ?

It's the key on the left of the number 1 key..  that makes a ~ when used with shift, and a `when pressed normally.

So not the regular 'quote' key but the 'tilde' key.

press and hold shift, and then hit that key.. then release, and type the codeword

On my keyboard pressing shift and the ' key makes a * and that turns on a cheat... weird :-\... but I don't think our keyboards looks the same... mine is Swedish :-[...

The "duck" cheat does not work when I try activating it in-game or at the Main Menu :'(... only the "see" cheat works :'(...

The see cheat works? Well if one of them works, then that key does work, I guess. So intheory the rest of the list should work too.. strange.

I can't say anything about your keyboard/language/region setup of course.  :-\

And the duck... well I think you have to activate it in the vessel selection screen. But I never tried ducky, cause I'm a quackophobic.  :P

I wonder how I make the sink cheat work, doesn't work in-game... or maybe?

Yes it is, Graeme, but it's a static object, that can be towed or used as eyecandy, it's not a player vessel.
