ASD is Azimuth Stern Drive. Bug2 is not an ASD type.

Correct! The "Bugsier 2" is an Azimuth Tractor Tug (ATT), with forward located thrusters. It makes no sense to install them in the vessels middle.. :'(

Those are two different philosophies, but they have in common, that the propulsion is located almost at the opposite end of the tug than the hook/winch is.

The real advantage of the ASD over the ATT is shallow waters operation capacity, also a new view of the off-shore market to the ASD is very well appreciated today by some of the big tug companies today as those type of tug can easy operate on the anchor handling too for off-shore assistance.

Here in Brazil we already have the total of 20 tugs ASD between 65 and 90mtons bollard pull each of then, those tugs are operating on the off-shore basin for FSPS maneuvering, tankers mooring assistance and anchor handling too.

Thoose great tugs are very welcome on ship's narow waters passage for scorting operations (as the ATT) with advantage to operate at the ship's FWD connecting it lines by the stern winch and or collect lines from the ship connected to her towing hook. At the FWD operations this tug will have all of it advantages reduced to a conventional 2xscrew tug, but can easy changes from towing scort to the push pull opperations when required. The designe of the bridge with 360dg are very appreciated and the funel reduced with only the long pipes passing near and encreasing the panoram view of the bridge inside.

If VSTEP add on of the ASD tug to SS that will be really great, trully I have no idea of they priority and plans for the news versions.

Good evening.

This post shouldn't really be in Ship Dynamics, as it has nothing to do with inaccuracies in the Ship Synamics.

If you're unsure about where to post your comments, please read the guide here:
http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,11578.0.html

I would move it to the Feature Requests section, but it does not contain a specific request (it is a general comment).

So, I will move it to Small Talk, as it doesn't talk about any vessels in Ship SImulator.
