I live in Massachusetts and I really feel your pain down there but I will not be touched by Gustav.  This has been the worst weather MA has had in years though. There have been 5-6 tornadoes in the near area in the summer but none near me.  MA almost never has any really wild weather except T-Storms and snow.

Good luck to all affected by Gustav, :-\

Wow that's Extreme weather, thankfully the weather in Britain is very mundane. Even so i hope you aren't too greatly affected by the hurricane. It must be a real pain having the threat of hurricanes and tornadoes every summer.

I truely don't fear for my home every summer, I only fear Trees falling on my boat.  I've already had a 100Ft Pine tree fall on my out door deck and almost me on the other side of the window ~4Ft.

We may have a few theunderstorms here in Tennessee by mid-week, but otherwise the only effect we will have (and are already seeing) is the people coming here to avoid the hurricane. People began arriving in our state last night, several shelters are set up state-wide. We wish them the best.

Up here on the west coast in storms of our own. Not bad though, lots of thunder, more then usual. Rain isn't as bad as it gets in a few months. Stay safe down there. I know allot of my friends have left the area.

Its times like this that I'm glad I live in Perth, where the worst flooding we get is when the Water Corperation "forget" to clear the storm drains for the start of Winter, and the Kwinnana Freeway becomes a sea lane lol  ;)
