Hi can't pick up crates, any clues on how this is done

It should be mentioned in the manual, but if not, look at the crane controls section (under settings) in game, that tells you really.

Here is where you can download two manuals in PDF form:

INFO.pdf gives instructions for operating the container crane. The ME tutorial gives additional information on missions that use the crane.
