I watched a tv program on that shipping yard, it was really amazing! I find it erie to see old ships no-longer in use

AHH, those little..... it breaks my hart seeing thoes ships getting taken apart, come on you could renovate them!, that passager liner looks so awsum, old rusty, blah......this is an outrage, who ever organized this whole factory should be ashamed. I'll give those people 0 out of 10 for that kind of job.

Very sad to see that happening to the ships, but it probably has to be done. A ship doesn't last forever

Well, sadly, the reason why these ships are put out of service is because they do not meet modern regulations and requirements. And if the company can sell them for scrap, they will earn a lot of money, that money can then go to a new ship. That seems to be the general cycle anyway.

But i agree, i don't know what it is about ships, but they are like.....its almost like they have a soul, and when i see one being scrapped i see it as murder, its almost like murdering a person, you will never see that person again, and its the same with a ship, you will never see that exact ship again. Whereas scrapping of cars dosen't bother me as much, because to me, they can be produced the exact same way again, whereas more older ships are nearly always different. And i think there are more memory's that come with a ship.

Anyway, i will go now as i'm going to cry

No, those people are most certainly not "evil scum". They perform a very valuable role in the shipping industry. Without them, the coast lines would be full of rusting wrecks. Makes a day at the beach pretty awful, then!

No ship owner will scrap a vessel until it becomes absolutely necessary to do so. They will try to get as much out of each vessel as they possibly can. But, inevitably, ships become uneconomic to repair.

For instance, the I-Beams or something similar could get so corroded that a large wave might snap the vessel in half if it is permitted to continue in service. There have been more than a few instances of this happening over the years.

Summary is that if those vessels were sea-worthy, they'd be on the sea.
