Boxed version, 2006, 2006 Addon and 2008.

Ordered them all at once and chose boxed versions, as my internet connection was slow(er than usual) and wasn't too stable at that point in time. And it's always nice to have something real to hold in your hand too, of course.

With my new and improved connection, I would probably have chosen download. Cause then I would have been able to get my hands on it faster.    ...And no cd's to break or be misplaced..
(or manuals with license-keys to lose. That seems to happen a lot with those typically short-term forum members  )

Hello!, I bought the boxed version simply because when i retired i destroyed all of my credit cards, therefore internet shopping is a no no.  Also, I had already decided that trusting my bank details to strange computers  is getting increasingly risky.  I don't even trust my own *smile*.  Cash buys only here. Got boxed versions of both SS06 and SS08 from our good friends at Amazon (other websites available too!) Like Fred I like to have somthing in my hand 

When i got ss08 i didnt get the addon as I assumed ss08 would have all the extra ships.... So now waiting for the 2008 Addon to come out and hopping that the ships from ss06 (Yacht & Smaller Container Ship) are included!

Why? Downloads are quick and easy in my mind I always like watching the little bar saying how far you've got to go Don't know why, it's just entertaining

I got Boxed version since the SS06, SS06 addon and SS08.

I have a friend in Rozenburg NL whom buy to me the newest version soonest are on the local shops and then post me.
Always something in hand too, espicial because I had lost one notebook at last month but still have the SS

Boxed: My mom insisted on using amazon so that we could know I would get it...

Download: It wasn't out in the US and it was only a few weeks old so I didn't expect to see it for a while. + I have unlimited bandwidth and good download speeds. Only took an hour and a half. :p

I bought SS06 in a box B/C you didn't have a secure site back then

But both SS08 and later SS06 add-on pack were bought through download.

I ordered it from Play.com for 2 reasons.

1.The boxed version was sold out on shipsim.com and i'm scared of download viruses
2. It's cheaper on play.com sorry VSTEP......

I got the boxed version from PC World. I was walking past and the box grabbed my attention. I thought it was a Microsoft product.

Having played with it and enjoyed it, I downloaded the add-on pack.

Then I downloaded 2008 version and here I am, still enjoying both versions.

2006 version,2006 add-on,2006 proffesional,2008 version&add-on.
I like this game very much,because i allways liked sailing(steering vessels).I also will buy future versions,to have my collection updated,i would buy the boxed versions.
