i have the ship-addon the MV JUMBO JAVELIN and have discovered that an zimuth 360 controller has been added, but it does not work...why?

It does work!
It just isn't used as main propulsion.
Only for manouvering and offshore work.
On a ship you must have patience.
And, u have to use your mouse.

If you stop the ship and use bow thruster to port and azimuth drive to starboard you will turn the ship round without her moving ahead or astern. As Sam says, she is a big ship and one needs to wait whilst the momentum builds up. You will see the wake effect from the azimuth drive appearing about two thirds of the length of the ship from the bow.
