Tug
« on: December 17, 2007, 14:00:35 »

Hi people.

I was just wondering how to get tugs to pull large vessels like the Titanic or the Latitude into harbours.
Thanks if you can answer.

Cap’n T,
The short answer is: hook ‘em up, go ahead full, and wait…and wait. (At least for the harbor tugs; Sherpa does much better.)
There is a short discussion on towing in the mission editor tutorial, and it is also discussed in a few other topics.
You can hook a tug to a vessel by getting close, slowing down, and clicking the towing icon—the chain link.
First click a green towing point on the tug; preferably the center one.
Next, click an orange mooring point on the towed vessel. Use as long a hawser as possible and start slowly until the line is out of the water.
Marty

If you are asking about towing a vessel into harbor from another environment, that’s a different problem because only the tug will be in the new environment; the tow will stay behind.

You can’t tow in free roaming because there can only be one player vessel in free roam.
You didn’t mention free roam in your post.
Who said anything about towing the tug?
You need to learn how to ask questions so that people know what you want to do.
You also need to learn how to read answers carefully.

Fine. But something you need to learn is answer much clearer. Plus I think it is WAY to obvious That I want it in free roam. Please read my first topic started comment carefully.

How can you expect a clear answer when your question is not clear???

You can't be towed by a tug.
You only can sail the tug to your ship and then manouver it.

Hi Sam.

Thats all I needed to know. But there are lots of topics saying "How can I get large ships to harbours without the help of a tug?" and all that stuff...

Hello capt titanic,

I´m student of Harbour pilots school here in Brasil, I´m a lover of missions with ship´s (any size) with TUG´s assistance.
Thats are my preffered missions.

If do you like with plessure I can creat a mission with TITANIC entering some harbour of your wishes and get TUG´s assitance, add pilot boat to delivery pilot on board before to start maneuvering.

Feel free to give me a request.

Cheers,
