Mission editor - How to reset an engine failure?
« on: November 23, 2007, 12:29:30 »

Hi there
Im trying to create a mission where a vessel encounters an engine malfunction - no problem.
However I want to create another WP (to which the damaged vesel has to be towed) where the engine will work again thus resetting the failure table.
For this reset WP I have used again the WP type "Trigger_DamageEngine" but this time the rudder and enginevalues are now set to Zero thereby presumably making the eingine and rudder operational again.
The scenario is that the damaged vessel is towed through a WP that resets the failure. However once you start towing, the damaged ship is no longer the active player ship bacause the towing vessel is not the active.
Therefore I'm a bit confused as to the meaning of the switch "DamageSelf" under special conditions.
The WP I have made to clear the failure is of course defined for the damaged vessel not the towing vessel (albeit I have tried that combination too witout succes.
Any ideas...solutions... ? Maybe a failure cannot be reset at all?

Best regards
