Converting to steam version?
« on: August 28, 2018, 04:51:32 »

I hadn't fire up my ship sim in some years, but wondering if there is a way to convert a digital download version to steam. I've tried registering my CD key through steam, but it says invalid.

Thanks, Kyle

Hi Ky-l,
If you bought the download version from V-Step then I am sorry there is no way you can convert it to Steam.
You can still use the game of course by registering it in the normal way.

Angus.

Thank you for your response. I have been playing ship sim for years. I was curious because I read either on the forum or on the Steam forums that you couldn't play multiplayer between Steam versions of the game and downloaded versions from Vstep. Is this the case?

Hi Kyle,
I'm not sure on this point. I have no knowledge of Steam I am afraid. However I suspect that, as you mention, it would not be possible to play multiplayer with two different versions of the game. Have you tried it?

Angus.

No I have not. I would think the way the DLC released it wouldn't be possible.
