I love all the new ships. Especially the new tug boat Cratus©!

And the playable barges in multiplayer really made the game so much more fun. Because now you can ride on the barge while another player pushes it.---Vstep read my mind on having the ability to do that!  ;D  :2thumbs:

All great great looking/handling ships. I really love this DLC!  :D

Thank you Vstep :)

This DLC looks amazing, but I can't use my computer until the weekend. I don't know if I'll last that long.

By the way, you said "...including 5 Controllable Barges". Does that mean we can hook up Hercules Atlas to a barge and actually steer with it now?

Hi Aslas,

I don't know how much the DLC is, but it isn't free. I assume it's around $15.00.

And about the name, try sending a PM to Swenson asking if it can be changed. He might say no though.

Hi All,
I thought that players who are knowledgeable about the inland waterways of Europe would be interested to know that the lighting on the barges & on "Deo Favente", "Mare Australe" & "Hercules Atlas" conforms correctly to the Inland Waterway Rules for Europe.   http://www.cevni.info/cevni%20regs.pdf

Wade through that little lot and you can see it's very complex.
The blue boards, which you can see on the starb'd side of the ships wheelhouses, are also operable by means of a switch inside the wheelhouse. My picture shows the position of the switch on "Deo Favente", I leave it for you to find it on the other ships. :-X ::) The lights are to be found by checking on the lights choices, where the actual differing set ups can be found by checking which is which. So if you wish to build up a chain of barges together with one of the three vessels you can set the lights to be correct for each set up you make.

Regards,
Angus.

I just bought it on Steam and I can't find the retail key. I hear it's happening to almost everyone else though.  :-\

By the way, are the driveable barges part of the DLC? It's a nice touch.

Hello Saltydog,

Is the Cratus a Voith-Schneider tug?

No, Cratus is an ASD tug with 2 FP 2.50 m ducted propellers.

Luc

Hi Salty,
Luc has beaten me to giving you an answer! The "ASD" term means Azimuth Stern Drive, the drive system is similar to "Bugsier 2" but with the drives aft of midships near the stern.

http://forum.shipsim.com/index.php/topic,21677.msg394736.html#msg394736

@ Rbsanford,
The barges ARE part of the DLC. So there are three new ships plus 5 barges in differing states of loading. Pictures below show control unit on foredeck, barge under way with nav. lights & barge altering course using onscreen control. The drive for the barges is up forward so that the control operates in the same way that "B 2" does.

Regards,
Angus.
