I have both programs.
I have to say I like Ship Sim 2008 better because it is much better quality but it does have a weakness; no 100's of add-on ships/harbours that Virtual Sailor users enjoy.
So if you're looking for a
QUALITY ship game, I would definately go for SS2008, no question. If you're looking for a
QUANTITY ship game then Virtual Sailor probably is your best bet.
I probably spend my time playing 98% on SS2008 and 2% on Virtual Sailor only because I want to play certain boats which are not available in SS2008.
