There is also a great deal of additional information on Ship Simulator 2008 in the FAQ's and Announcements section

There are no Australian areas to sail in, I'm not sure if any are planned for the future.  Only time will tell I guess

It’s not possible to sail to Oz, that’s why the sim has not arrived there.
Seriously, Mate, as DJM said, the question has been asked before.
Auran—the Trainz guys in Brisbane—have been advertising it on their site for some time. Last time I checked there, they were talking about late September availability. That’s probably due to delays in translation.
I suggest you check with Auran on local availability, or simply order directly from VSTEP, either boxed or download.
