Agree with your observation. Dug around a bit and managed to find something. Here are two links which I hope will have some useful info for laptops.

good read, nice to see my trusty QX6850 is still up there... i wish i could overclock it successfully to 4.67ghz..i know it can do it, but i dont know how to do it.. yet

yea been there done that, opened up the bios and set the OC to 4.0 and windows loads, its after 2 minutes i get a BSOD and crash... anything higher and my fans/coolers start winding up like they are ready for takeoff...

its annoying because i see people running the same computer i have at higher speeds and i cant for the life of me figure out what im doing wrong...

Having saved money, worked hard, and investing wisely.... plus it started out with 2 different vid cards, and less ram , and one less HD, i have just kept adding to it. taking Alienware to court and winning helped too.

Why did you take Alienware to court?

I bought one of their systems and it failed 5 times in a year (motherboard) and they refused to honor the warrenty after 6 months even tho I had a 3yr warrenty. This was back pre dell days so the qa sucked. I got a dell after that and have had it since. Tho I'd NEVER Reccomend an alienware to anYone. Ther cs and tech support is deplorable.
