That looks good, kinda looks like a Hotel balcony at the back.  Unusual, but I like it :)

Speed: 30Kn

30 knots?!  :o I doubt it! That would be the fastest ferry in the world of that type!  :D

Thanks. As for the speed, yes. Thats true. it can go up to 30 knots without difficulty. One reason is because its got 2 engines just like the red jet 4's

Also the ferry is not BIG. A little smaller then the red eagle.

Hi Captain Titanic :)

I looks rather old and the hull shape doesn't look like a hull built for going 30 knots. I would certainly like to see that before I believe it.  ;) Nice model though :)

Capt Groennegaard,

Did you not realise it's a hydrafoil and once it gets to 8 kts, it lifts out the water... its quite modern and only retro-styled.  :D

Hi Luc... Unless I'm looking at different photos, the two are nothing alike.

That one in your picture is part of a fleet identical in design. There are 2 for sale. I'll see if I can find the site.

Hi Stu.

Yes. I think you are right. Those two boats in the picture are yatch's And as you said, look like they are for sale. A real picture of the Akartuna is at the top of this page.

Thanks

I think Lucs picture actually is a hydrafoil... I was looking at a picture of one out of water that was for sale.

Archaic, mid 70s (Russian I believe)

no, its not a yacht. it's most certainly a coastal/ estuary type fast passenger craft.

The pictures of the wheelhouse are really old. It looks like something from history!

Good luck! It is a quite complex hull, with various geometry at differing points along the hull.

I wonder if SS actually supports (or CAN) hydrafoil... I bet it can as the speed boat rises out of the water when at speed, so presumably a hydrafoil can be modelled on the same principle.

Call me stu, stuart, whatever you like (as long as it doesn't involve swearing  ;) )
