Ship bahaviour, realisem and controlls
« on: October 31, 2010, 15:03:21 »

Hi,

When will the dynamics and realisem of most of the ships, eg. PoR, be fixed?
As for now, the ship ither do not respond at all, or if so, its very unrealistic and poor.

When will the controlls (Bridge controlls - both fixed AND in walkaround) be fixed. As of now, they are totally useless on many of the ships.

I am a navigation officer and truly enjoyed 2008. As SSE was promoted for months, bringing very high expectations, I cound be nothing but sad as I realized SSE was a huge step down. Nothing worked and it was truly unrealistic.
I would not write this if it wasent for the fact that i NEVER get a proper and honest answer on my bugg reports.
As I have written earlier, I payed you and I trusted you. So please at least give me an answer of how and when any of all the problems will be fixed!?

Bringing all ship dynamics from 2008 and put it in the SSE graphic inviroment would be a dream right now...

Hi Nautica777,

First, the technical support board is for asking help on specific problems, not for complaints. There are other topics for that.

VSTEP is aware of all bugs that anyone has reported; often before they are reported on the forum. They are far too busy working to correct those bugs to give a reply to each report.
The bugs will be fixed, if possible, in the V1.3 update, which is currently in beta testing. It is obviously not possible to give a release date until that testing is completed.

Regards,
Marty

We are many many people that we don`t understand why VStep abandoned the development of Ship Simulator 2008 and where VStep want to go with this ship simulator extremes. VStep don`t explain anything.

Always is pleasant the opinion from somebody like you Nautica777. You are a professional, not a simple fan of ships, thus, your opinion is important in order to appreciate the quality, features and performances of this simulator.

VStep have to do a really hard work from now on to convince us Ship Simulator Extremes is or it will be better than SS 2008. There are so many lacks respect SS 2008 (Camera options, icons with differents menus, nautical chart and radar not independent...), and bugs than we don´t know how many of them have been reported from the other members of this forum or not, so we don`t want to be redundant and we are quite resigned, waiting for something.

In my humble opinion we deserve an explanation from VStep. What`s happening? What future has this simulator? Add-on? New functions like tides, ballast, rules of traffic control of different ports?

Greetings

what kind of explanation do you expect? that marketing ss extremes may give more financial profit that developing and further patching ss08? vstep has the goal for its own best, not for the customers best.

Yes, ACR, VStep is not obliged to explain to us it`s marketing policy. However, we can think about it, of course. VStep at every new release, is telling to us that they have developed a new program. It seems a big waste of resources, to release a new product, plenty of failures and problems. Now, VStep has a terrible headache, to resolve them.

SS2008 worked, and quite well. We think it was possible to continue with new add-ons; paying for them, of course, and VStep making money with it. Why VStep has involved itself in this mess?

In the other hand, the enterprises, naturally, make the things for their own best, not for the customers, exactly. But in long term, the enterprises must think about customers. Perhaps, the problem now, is we are a captive market. There`s no other rival on the market making a simulator like this.

Have a nice day`s run.

I have problems when berthing the POR sideways. Berthing POR sideways worked pretty good (but slow) in SS2008, could bring POR parallel to her berth in SS2008. Now I have problems, maybe I do something wrong.

Can someone explain to me how I should proceed? I like to berth POR sideways (forward/backwards both sides)
Somebody helped me for SS2008. But I seem to have problems after each new game, update/patch. It was so from SS2008 to SSE and from SSE to the new update 1.2.2.

Ship dynamics never seem to be the same for the same vessel, like POR, or am I wrong?
Who can help me?
