Internal of the ships
« on: August 15, 2011, 12:35:15 »

One thing I have critcised SSE for is that Vstep have put most of their strength about the visual in this game. I mean that this is not a simulator, it is a boat driving game. But that I have written enough about.

But why is nearly everything about the external of the ships and so little work of the internal. Like the bridges of most ships are very simple done and it more or less seems like a bridge which is not finished, so much is missing.

My question and suggestion is if this will be worked on in the future.

Here are some add ons you can buy for Vehicle Simulator and most of them are realy great I think. And I would gladly pay this amount they sell this ships for if Vstep had done the same for SSE.

If you click on each ship there are screen shots of them all. And I think most of them are realy well done.

Ship Simulator is not even for one bit comparable with Virtual Sailor.

Virtual Skipper, I agree it is a different but they can for sure be compared, even if Virtual Sailor is the old version of that game, Vehicle Simulator(Vhs) is the new name of it. Now when we are a bit of topic so what can be compared is the free roaming in SSE and Vhs, and there is Vhs so much better, with two sorts of radar, Gps, radio nav system and some more. But this what not what I ment with this topic, I tried to bring up why not Vstep have focused soo little about the interior. Not that it is "bad", but it could be soo much better. And I think this ships(the links) for Vhs illustrate good what I would like to have.

I understnad what your saying about the bridges looking like there from a ship thats about to be cut up, and I completely agree with you that they should have more detail, However, the thing that we have to remember is that if they start adding polys on the bridge there going to have to come off somewhere else, which means that you lose detail on another part of the ship.
Although the bridge colour schemes don't aid the situation, I mean, Ships have carpets and laminate flooring, not something that looks like its from the 80's

Not sure - you could have the bridge where you only have stuff visible when ion the bridge, then if you leave the bridge that stuff disappears...?

And also with making the interior better so much also the walkthrow be made so you can walk around the whole ship. And I would gladly pay some extra for a nice interior in the ships, and with nice interior I mean something much better than all the ships we now have in the game.  Take a look at the links I posted in first post in this thread, I would gladly pay for eash single ship if they looked like this. But my wish for more working instruments will always come first, cause now is the game a boat driving and tug game, it is not a simulator game of 2010(It is also already in the quick world we live in already an old title). And vstep could easy add many more working instruments without beeing afraid of that the game should be even close to a professional simulator. Most instruments could have been done in simplyfied versions, like the radar is now, it is radar, but it is extremly simple if we compare it with a modern radar. What about a simple Gps for example. And this instruments will also make the internal of the bridge looks much more realistic.

wiqvist, I always have thought the same thing. Ship Simulator 2008 or Extremes, or Ship Simulator Professional or Nautis are the same software. VStep is selling to us a reduced version, with very limited performances, and the rest of performances are being selling to professionals. ¿Do you really think VStep is developing different simulators for different markets?

If VStep would sell to us the rest of performances of the simulator; like different add-ons, VStep would have a big problem. They`d probably would have a conflict with the professional sector.

Perhaps you and other people think my idea is crazy, but I'd like VStep would explain to us it's strategy and projects for this simulator. Where do they want to come with this software? We need and want to know the answer.
