Controls on SSE
« on: September 11, 2010, 12:53:42 »

So, i'm completely new to the Ship Simulator 'games'. Thought i might give it a try

I'm enjoying it already but i'm running into a few problems, how on earth do i get a ship away from the dock. I'm doing the Greenpeace mission number 5, Across the globe.

But i cant find anywhere how to get away from the dock and get the ship going. Its still at the dock, with the ropes still attached, but how can i detach them?

With the next Ship Sim of yours, try making a tutorial and an complete overview of all controlls in this game!

Many thanks in advance

Hi FastFred, and welcome!

You'll find the answer in the manual, on page 17! There it describes how that works. You use the 'mooring' menu button in the lower right hand corner, activate that mode, and then click on the balloons to moor/unmoor.

There's also a simplified control overview there, aswell as a complete list in the game.

I hope this helps!

Fred

Hi FastFred,

After you light up the yellow blobs on the ship by clicking the top (bollard) mooring button, you left-click on the ones to which lines are attached. That drops the line.

Lines can be hard to see; a planned change in the next patch will identify the blobs that have lines attached. For now: If you click a blob that has no line, the blobs on shore will light. Click that bollard button to re-light the ones on the ship, and try another blob.

If you drop all the lines, the ship should not sink as you pull away.

As the other Fred said, the manual gives a quick explanation on how to operate most of the controls.

Regards,
Marty

Smith, i thank you for your help, i finally got it free!

Now, to be honest I dont buy games wich i'm not sure off if they are really good. So i downloaded it, just to try.

I guess that when i buy it, there is a manual included?

Well, either way, a tutorial wich explains all the controls isn't such a bad idea

Yes, there is a manual included and installed onto your hard drive.

There may be a manual/tutorial when/if I find time to write one. Meanwhile, you can download some information here:
