Steam and Ship sim extreme
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:06:55 »

I purchased the retail boxed version of extreme and want to run it like I run 2008; ie, straight from my hard drive and not through Steam. I find Steam intrusive into my  enjoyment  of the game.

With my 2008 version I just click my icon and away I go, with extreme I have to go through several Steam screens before I can start playing.

Is there a way to get rid of Steam and stop all it's  pop ups to allow me to fully enjoy my Extreme Ship Sim.

It appears you have more chance of eradicating cockroaches from planet earth than you have of extracting your computer from the clutches of steam.

I think if you have a quick flick through the forum, you'll find you aren't the only one with this opinion.

I have now had a play with sse on someone else's computer and next time I'm in europe I will buy a boxed copy there as it is sans-steam. Or you can download from vstep if your broadband is quick enough.

Open Steam.
Select "My games" or whatever it's called in english.
Select Ship Simulator Extremes
Right click and select "Create desktop icon".

Mission complete, no more Steam-screens.
