The famous series of SUPERFLEX ferries is going to shrink. The fourth of 15 vessels of that type, the "Superflex Delta", is on the way to the ship breakers. She served as "Gitte 3" for several years as a spare part dispenser in Sweden. The Sunderland yard in England has built them in a series of 24, but only 15 have been completed. The main difference to other ferries was the unusual design of the power plants on board. The Cummins diesel engines and gen-sets are located at the weather deck in compact boxes which allows a fast and easy maintenance.
