Cruiseliner "Ocean Star"?
« on: May 19, 2009, 19:01:16 »

I paly this simulator on good joysticks and to my ist all new level. By the way it`s nice and peaceful game. ;)

But i have question about Ocean Star.
How i have to set settings in game to reverse/slow down the ship? Like how?! On wright hand i have real Joysticks and on the left hand i have ... how to call..power control back-forward.
OK, i know how to change the buttons but ... engine 1+2 reverse - it`s dosent work, because you have to turn the rutter/thruster(?) azimut to 360 degrees. And the rutter only +-90 degrees.
To steer the ship only on mouse it`s like impossible.
I hope you guis understand my question, and my spelling.

version: Ship Simulator 2008 +  New Horizons.

Well, you can handle that ship with mouse, but it needs some practise to pick up the correct circles around the levers/joysticks. But for sure it works. Try to do it and look at the two different circles. For turning the pods, it is very helpful to tick the inner circle at the back of the lever. Than you can turn the pod quite easy and it won't turn like a maniac first. Same with the thrust.

The other way is to use the keyboard. I know, you and several other guys yelling out for joystick steering - and I agree. But it seems to be quite difficult to steer both pods independent that way. I choose precision steering and a couple of keys on my keyboard, even neighbour keys to have everything under control at the same time. Not very realistic, I know. But it works - not only with the "Ocean Star" but with the "Bugsier 2" too.

Best regards

Don't forget the Jumbo Javelin has a joystick.
