underwater exploration
« on: May 12, 2009, 22:58:47 »

evening gents

after a discussion yesterday about subs in ss i checked out the much inferior virtual sailor and noticed they had a small sub exploring a very fictional sea bed . what if ss added a way of diving these subs to ship wrecks i mean the thought of going to the titanic for example would make an interesting aspect!! does any one agree or am i just clutching at straws let me know thanks all  ;D ;D

If you want a ship simulation of diving in a sub, as DIAMANT said, try the Silent Hunter series.

Or you could use Virtual sailor, I think there is a titanic wreck scenery for it also.. ::)

I just don't think any sub or underwater feature will go well in SS, as it is, SS requires good PC specs, with the likelyhood of more features and a better wave spectrum in SS10 which most likely means a higher minimum PC specifications, and well, adding a underwater seabed fully textured will require an even higher min PC spec.

okay chaps

a fair point all round i must admit that the sailing of ships is much more entertaining than some dark murky water and i will try the silent hunter game and see if can actually work as a game format  :2thumbs:
