Rotterdam on the Mersey.
« on: May 26, 2009, 11:38:40 »

I know Liverpool is on the Mersey but at 11.00.am(BST) today Rotterdam was also here. ;)  The BBC newsflash says that she is the first Trans-Atlantic liner to berth here for over 40 years. ??? I understand that Liverpool is her first port of call after leaving New York.

Hmm didn't QE2 visit Liverpool on one of her last voyages? I'm not entirely sure...

I think the BBC meant that she was the first for over forty years to arrive in Liverpool direct from the other side of the pond. QE2 did in fact call here not so long ago but in course of a round Britain farewell trip before she left for Dubai.
