Three men in more than one boat
« on: January 02, 2009, 10:06:07 »

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you know about this programme, on British tele, its called Three men in more than one boat. The previous series had the name "Three Men In A Boat", but this is I suppose, a bit like a re-make.

Its very amusing to watch, because, they don't have a clue about what they are doing at all :D

A few boats get smashed up.....*cough* side of gangway.......

If you didn't watch last nights viewing, here is a link so you can watch it over the internet!-The next showing on the tele is Monday (as far as I'm aware).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gdfpp/Three_Men_in_More_Than_One_Boat_Episode_1/?src=a_syn31

Its really a comedy programme. I love it. Its well worth watching!

Missed the begining as was sorting take away out, but it was funny when Rory couldn't get a 6ft wide boat into an empty lock without crashing into the side and then steering the tug on a zig-zag course.  ;D

Looks like there will be some interesting vessels in the next episode

Thats what I thought, he said something on the lines of: "How am I going to get this in there" :D

I think that boat was a Colvic, neat little boat and all ;D Although, I don't think he could of bought it for £200 (as said in the programme).

The tug was the best bit haha :D

i have become a bit weary of bbc programmes because i think a lot of it is set up and like rory could have steered that tug in a straight line. griff rhys jones is the only one who knows anything about boats

I thought that too, but, if he hasn't ever had any experience, and without knowing how she handles, its possable, I suppose. Although, I would have thought the first (I think a Colvic) boat would have been easy to handle, especially with her having an inboard engine. Outboards tend to be harder to operate, since, as soon as you throttle off, you have no steering (Or not much anyway). I'm lucky, since I have experience with both. Although, I've never sailed a boat with an outdrive(s).

i wouldnt recommend driving a boat with an outdrive (leg) because they are all over the place left then right and even with duo props they are hard to steer and then you have to wait if you put it in reverse and then rev it up because then the leg kicks up and you have to think one step ahead like if i dont put the boat in reverse now am i going to crash and all stuff like that, outboards are a lot better like that

There's quite a few boats around the local marina with Outdrives, I like the inboards myself, but, on our fishing boat (Make/model: Hardy) we have an outboard, on our cabin cruiser (Colvic) we have an inboard. I've never sailed a boat with an outdrive, so I haven't got a clue as to how they handle.

I saw a clip of it last night. might watch it fully. I like the guys in it, griff Rhys Jones is interesting, Rory Macrath is funny and Dara O brien is one of the 17 saints of comedy, He's brilliant hosting Mock the Week. Although Russell Howard and Michael macintyre are even better, true brilliance! ;D ;D
