Hi,

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to go on a visit on the P&O Cruise Ship Aurora whilst she was berthed in Southampton. Whilst onboard we went on a guided tour around the ship and then had a five star meal onboard! Later on I had a quick look around Southampton, and managed to see a few Ships.  :2thumbs:

Here are some internal shots of the Aurora. I will sort out some pics of the other vessels I saw and post them later.

Close up shot of the bow, showing how large it is, from the Mayflower Cruise Terminal Waiting Lounge.

Can still keep with the forum whilst onboard, with this computer room

The Crows Nest bar, above the bridge

The impressive funnel

The Rivieria Pool

The Crystal Pool, which features a retractable roof.

Exterior part of the Sun deck, showing where the deck-game coits can be played

Looking down to another pool. This area at the stern is also used as a arena sometimes for events, such as talks by the Captain.

The Orangery

Another shot of the Crystal Pool

Raffle's Court, where people play cards

The impressive statue. This Goes from the reception/arrival area on F deck up four decks to D Deck!

The onboard library, which even features a librarian.

The Playhouse, one of Aurora's 2 Theatres

the Cafe Bordeaux

View looking up the exterior decks!

The Terrace Bar

The external Promenade Deck

Champions Bar - whose name reminds me of the Silverstones bar on P&O Ferries...

Masquerade Bar

The Andersons Bar, named after the founder of P&O

The Curzon Theater, the large theatre on board. Can hold 600 people!

The shore excursion desk

An Outside Cabin

Inside Cabin

A luxury Suite with balcony

The Piano Suite. This covers two levels and includes a butler! It costs £8000 for the Next cruise to the Baltics!

The Medina Restaurant, where we had our dinner.

View just after disembarkation.

All in all, a very enjoyable visit, and well worth it

She looks stunning. ;D

However my grandparents were on her last cruise (venice), they were pleased with the ship, however they did say that the boat rolls allot, even with hardly any swell..

Thanks for the pics, looks like you had a good day out! :)

Thanks for all the nice comments

It was indeed a lovely tour. They took you round all public areas of the ship.

RMSGB: I would loved to have been on the cruise, especially as it was going to Scandinavia/Baltic. Well, we can all dream...  ;D

I will sort out a few of the Southampton shots and put them on later.

Great pictures.

Im sure I can see my house from the pool shot. Also that tower block in your last pic is where my brother lives we watched the farewell flyby of the QE2 from his balcony.

Not sure what the dome is, Lots of little ships are moored here, haven't a lue how they get to the land from here.

The Margaret Hill, a LNG carrier

Dinteldijk, Winona and Julietta, seen behind the Aurora

Some of the old looking cranes

The 'IKEA' Clad Red Osprey...

The Ashleigh R, seen doing a tour.

A fast little boat called Cheetah

The Old Southampton City wall. In oldern times, the water came right up to here...

Its weird, I see these boats pretty much every day and never really payed much attention to it all.
Seeing it all how you have captured it I think I will take some time over the weekend to take a proper look.

The hm5 has been there for many years now it was going to be converted into a houseboat but never finished there are a few more houseboats around st denys. And the silver dome is the marchwood recycling centre.
