Welcome aboard, the world.
« on: January 08, 2009, 02:41:15 »

Just look at those suites. If I were to ever strike oil, I wouldnt rent out my house and go live on The World. How amazing would that be to rent one of the suites. Its a residential ship for those who never heard of her before. Going to bed with a Caribean sunset, waking up with a chilly breeze from thenorthen east coast of North America, every day a new place : )
If I live aboard her, I would by a webcam and have it mounted on my balcony and have a live feed 24/7, would be kinda fun.

But for everyone who's been on cruises, im sure you are graved getting off. If you lived there, you would never need to get off, coming back everyday to a bed made up by the steward/ess, going out to watch the sunset on your balcony or the top deck. Go the bar for a drink at night, or just relax your life away...ahh...

Would have to be short time for me :P Because if you live there, you have to have some kind of buying and selling jobs or whatnot using the internet, because of curse, your out at see. And, thats just not my kind of job :P

I watched some of the videos on TV about this ship.

Edit
Hahahaha, for a 60 day stay it would cost $78,300.00 base fee xD

Edit
And for fun, I looked at the longest possible stay using the vacation planner, and a three year stay would only cost
$917,700.00
Lets all go for a party, split the cost? xD

Plus another million for shops, food and everything else ^^

OOH, the Freedom Ship, sorry sorry, didn't get it for a minute. No, this isnt the freedom ship, this ship is already sailing, and has been for a while.
The Freedom Ship will be so amazing if it is ever real.

is that the freedom ship?

This is (http://freedomship.com/).

But as for the The Wolrd, I too saw a program on the Travel Channel about it; it sounds pretty cool! I wouldn't mind touring the world (no pun intended) with a rental apartment on that.

That is, of course, if I had the money. :D

That would be so cool! Your home would constantly be moving around the world. It would be like "where do you live?" then you could answer "Well today I live in rome, and then tommorow I'll live in Helsinki, than next mounth I'll live in New York."

Sounds like one of our moderators...looks like he is everywhere in the world ;D

For a while I lived on ships like that—R/V Argo, R/V Melville, R/V Knorr, R/V Thomas Washington.
I didn’t have a stewardess, and they are not as advanced as Ship Simulator—you don’t teleport to the next city overnight. You need to wake up to about 35 sunrises over barren ocean first.

And so on...

So, shes only really ever at sea for three days tops.

If I ever do live on a resident ship, I would want it to be at sea for many days at a time.

And I guess The World does have minimal steward/ess services.
