Can I have Ship Simulator on two PCs?
« on: December 06, 2008, 20:08:33 »

I asked for Elbe and Furie this Christmas, but my family is going down to Texas for Christmas this year (Where it's WARM ;D), so I can't bring my PC down, but my mother has a Mac laptop with Bootcamp on it, so I want to know the following:

Can I play Ship Simulator 2008 with NH on two different PCs?

Will the same lisence key for the JJ, Elbe, and Furie work on both computers if I can?

and

Is my data saved on the disk or online, or will I have to manually transfer my Userdata between the two?

Hopefully the laptop is powerful enough to run the game....

Nope, the EULA does not allow for two installations for the same user.

Unless you plan to use a second pc as a dedicated server machine, it's not allowed to have it on two pc's.

Sorry.

Yes.

You'd be well advised to uninstall one of them straight away. Otherwise you may find that you are barred from the Forum and can't access multiplayer servers, can't download any free vessels or new updates and so on.

How would this be classed as illegal, surely if someones bought a copy for their own use then they shoud be able to use it whereever they like as long as they arent selling it one etc, its like buying a CD and only being able to play it on one stereo system?

A cd is a passive medium..You only listen to it
A game is an active medium, only one registered player may use it
How to tell if a game on 2, 3 or 7 computers is used by only one registered person..?

This isn't up for discussion, chaps.

When you installed the simulator, the End User License Agreement was very clear in telling you that you can only install te simulator on one PC. You agreed to that when you clicked on teh "I agree" button.

As a gesture of kindness, Vstep permit you to uninstall it and reinstall it onto another PC. (unlike many software companies that only ermit a limited number of reinstallations. Or no reinstallations...).
