Bow visors and stern doors
« on: October 21, 2008, 20:55:52 »

hi guys,
Do you think if there was a ferry in the shipyard, Should it have a opening bow visor and stern doors. I think it would be pretty cool. You should have a button on the ships bridge that opens it while you're doing the birthing prosidure, and when u cast off and depart you can close it again. For the stern door, when u are docked you can lower it and when u go u can lift it up and chocks away! Note the visor in the pic

What good is all that, really if there are no cars to load?

Well if I am not mistaken, in Rotterdam you can see what appears to be a trolley or train car going across the bridge. I could see there being 4 or 5 "trucks" waiting on the dock to be loaded or offloaded if it's a ferry.

In Flight Simulator you can "request clearance for takeoff/landing," so maybe you can get an all clear signal when the vessel is loaded or unloaded and ready to depart.  8)

they do that at Dover (where I live) befor departing. you depart when given clearance and there are really big traffic lights that turn green when a ship is departing and turn red when there isnt.  The lights are on the right hand side of the controll tower in the pic

Good evening.

This post shouldn't really be in Ship Dynamics, as it has nothing to do with inaccuracies in the Ship Synamics.

If you're unsure about where to post your comments, please read the guide here:

I would move it to the Feature Requests section, but it does not contain a specific request (it is a general comment).

So, I will move it to Small Talk, as it doesn't talk about any vessels in Ship SImulator.

Well I wouldent mind being able to open and close bow visier and ramps, it would add more realism.
However that would give the programmers a lot more work and they already have a lot to do so I dont think that we will see this in the game.

Nice ferry in the first post by the way.
