Doctor Who
« on: November 07, 2008, 12:26:24 »

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller known as "the Doctor" who travels in his space and time-ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, solving problems, facing monsters and righting wrongs.

The programme is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world[1] and is also a significant part of British popular culture.[2][3] It has been recognised for its imaginative stories, creative low-budget special effects during its original run, and pioneering use of electronic music (originally produced by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop). In the United Kingdom and elsewhere, the show has become a cult television favourite and has influenced generations of British television professionals, many of whom grew up watching the series. It has received recognition from critics and the public as one of the finest British television programmes, including the BAFTA Award for Best Drama Series in 2006.

Some of you may know more than one of The Doctors, I personally know 7/10 of them.

Also my personal favorite symbol of the show is the Doctor's worst enemy from the very first episode to the very latest episode...

...The DALEKs

I voted "Fanatic".

I am the Doctor...

PS Wiliam Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, John Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davidson, etc.

You missed Peter Cushing, who starred in the film in the sixties.

I remember watching the very first Dr Who episode. William Hartnell (the Doctor) had a granddaughter who was in trouble at school for her scientific beliefs. She brought home two of the teachers from her school to speak to her grandfather and they all went off in the Tardis. (end of episode 1).

My friend wants me to see Voyage of the Damned.

He showed me the ship at the start.

Uncomfortable space between the middle 2 funnels in my opinion ;D :P

Wow... it ISN'T obvious?

It's because it featured a space ship called the Titanic with a fair resemblance to it!

That was the first episode of one of the seasons, if memory serves....

He is a fan of the show, so he wouldn't confuse the title.

I've got it back in my memory now. With the show running for about 50 years, it sometimes gets difficult to recall them all.

There was some talk about the old character Rose becoming a new Doctor because she looked into the heart of the Tardis.
