To strengthen the simulator development team, VSTEP is looking for a software engineer or computer scientist with a hydrodynamic or aerodynamic background. Join our young and international development team, and help us change the world of maritime training and entertainment!
Job description:You will join the development team of the next generation Ship Simulator engine, to be used for both the game and for professional training products,
with tasks like:
- Integrating the Nvidia/Ageia PhysX engine for the vessel dynamics, and the effect of wind, current and collisions.
- Improving the autonomous vessel behaviour, so ships behave according to the International Collision Regulations
- Developing the instructor station, with a highly graphical and friendly user-interface
- Introducing animated characters on the vessels, which can communicate with the player
Qualifications:- MSc in Maritime Technology, Hydrodynamics, Aerodynamics, Physics or equivalent
- Nautical experience on professional vessels or yachts
- Knowledge of basic ship hydrodynamics
- Experience in software development using C++, C#, Java or equivalent
- Strong teamworking and communication skills
- Previous experience with working on training simulators is a plus
