Hi all, im new to ship simulator and need some one to teach me! The game isnt that great for doin so. I normally fly on FSX, but thought id give this a game a try.

Hi Andy,
I could start by telling you to just practice taxiing the float plane in FSX, but I won’t.
There are some manuals to explain how things work. Some are probably in your Ship Simulator installation folder in PDF form. Others can be found here:

The ME tutorial gives an explanation of how mission waypoints work, and other useful information. It is worth studying even if you don’t intend to make your own missions.

The best teacher is yourself press lots of buttons and you will find out what everything does, experience is the key. The manual that comes with the game can be useful at times too. If you need help, just ask.

Hi roo2008.

I'd strongly reccommend taking heed of Marty's good advice. Those manuals are worth their weight in Marmite.

And Jack's advice is also worth following. What's the worst that can happen if you sink your ship? ("restart").

PS "Marmite" = gold if you're unsure about the reference. Veggemite may be another way of expressing it.

Try learning the game the way I do. I mess around with the controls and play around with all the features. Than I only look in the manual if I can't figure something out.

Yep another flyboys here, love playing around with the big vessils now.. like i'd manouvre the 747's ...

Ever tried landing a 747 engine's off above (about 15.000 ft)Tenerife and making a terrific landing?

That's about the same as trying to land a ship in shipsim, if you go too fast.. you overshoot the harbour and ..well..    ehr.. haveta start all over.

Hi Steiny,
If I recall correctly, a KLM captain managed to prang two 747s on Tenerife without leaving the ground. That’s a “bad thing” place.
