Before I had the right graphics card, the 1.8 patch rendered my game useless, only allowing me to watch a plane I couldn't control
now that I have a GeForce 7600, will it work correctly?

i did look at the cover. and you can that!
-
The patch had the same affect on me I now have a GeForce 8400 so I wonder if it works now? :D
Be fun to go BACK to ss06. :p
-
It didn't work
Why do they even HAVE the patch?
-
I don't know. It says it adds another vessel. Is that other vessel an airplane that decides to fly around?
-
I dunno. All I know is the un/reinstallation of the game to loose the patch has cost me my data!
-
Why do they even HAVE the patch?
Patches are made to fix certain issues within the game. bugs and such.
Also they may contain additional content.
What graphics card did you have before?
The patch is probably not at fault, nor is the game. It's something to do with your pc, most likely.
The additional vessel added is a small workboat.

Fred

I upgraded from a GeForce 420 MX to a GeForce 7600 GS (big leap!)
other than that, my PC meets or exceeds all other settings that are recommended to run the game.

That doesn't necessarily means that your settings aren't correct ;)
Do you have the latest drivers? Could you post your DXDIAG please?
-
I don't know what a "DXDIAG" is.
All I could tell you is that I have DirectX 9, and I also needed all the latest updates for the graphics card to work.

Go Start > Run (Windows Key + R) type dxdiag and press ok.
Then press "save all information" it saves it to a txt file and then attach it here. ;)

Why not post your machine name? We can't attack your machine because we need to know your IP address. Trust me on this one ;)
-
... okay...
I deleted the name...

Try downloading the latest drivers. They are 6+ months out of date.
Once you've applied the most recent drivers, let us know what happens :)

oh... is a GeForce 7600 a part of the GeForce 7 series?

oh... is a GeForce 7600 a part of the GeForce 7 series?
Yes. That's why you have a GeForce 7600 lol
-
just double checking
-
okay, I updated the drivers, restarted my computer, redownloaded the patch...
AND THE STUPID PLANE IS THERE TO GREET ME!!! >:( UPDATING THE DRIVERS DIDN'T DO SQUAT!!! WHAT ELSE IS THERE?!
-
I dont play much SS06, but I have seen the plane.. Can't you switch to an active player vessel??
Can you make a screenshot of what you see? Cause I don't understand,.... your game is running, yes?
I think you're overlooking something really simple.. But not playing SS06 much, or for a while now, I can't remember what to do off the top of my head.
Cheers.
And there's no need to shout, that won't help a thing. ;)

Well go into to play a mission. There is only 1 mission in there. And then you click play and it takes you to new york and flys a plane around. No other options.
