Hey Guys, I want to play SS08 with my friend via a LAN connection. I have downloaded the SS08 Multiplayer Server and my SS08 is on Version 1.4.2. The Problem is that I can not create a Online Profil in the game.
There comes a error-message which says that the Server is not available.
Do you have any idea how i can solve this problem? For me it is not necessary to play online LAN would be enough.
Thanks

Sadly there is a problem at the present, but hopefully it may be fixed in the next day or so.

Hey All,
I have still the same problem with the unavailable server in SS08. Anyone else has the same problem or maybe a solution for this?
-
The problem has been fixed for SSExtremes a while ago so that Stormforce was able to run his servers again . But the interest among the players faded during the following weeks and, eventually, Stormforce took his servers down.
So, there is apparently no need for VSTEP to do the same thing for SS2008. Sad to say but, since the up- and download systems of SS2008 are broken "since time immemorial", it's no use to go online with the game any more.

Oh that is really sad, because I only want to play LAN with a second pc. Is there the possibility to get an existing account from somebody an copy the file to my user data folder?
I don’t know why I really need a online account an a connection to the server when I only want to play with my own private server in my lan network.... I have build my own bridge console and now I want to use the multiplayer server for a second bridge for tug assistance and so on.... 😩

If I understood the system correctly, you can set up your own private server. These private servers, however, don't appear on the server list in the game so that you have to exchange both the IP adress number of the server and the client port number with the other players. You can do so, for example, publically through the forum or via PM or e-mail if you want to stay in privacy.

Ok, this I understand so far. But the question is how I can create or get an a account/profile with online rights without the servers... Maybe it is possible to modify the existing offline account?! I only need access to the in-game multiplayer page for selecting my own private server...

Did you download the Multiplayer Server App from the ShipSim homepage?
This is the link: http://shipsim.com/downloads/updates
Unfortunately, this thing doesn`t work on my machine due to a bug in my OS.
-
Yes I installed the app a long time ago and there is no problem by starting a new private server. Only the access of the game to the server is not possible. The picture shows the error message which pops up when I try to create the online account. Without the account I am not able to go to the multiplayer page in the SS08.
