It`s very sad to see the Ship Sim community come to this..... I do miss the old days.... :C :C SSE was a success in some ways however did lack in others but can someone please confirm if ShipSim dead or alive-ish thanks!
-
Unofficially I would say yes, the series has pretty much ended unfortunately. Vstep no longer actively develops the game which reflects on the activity of the community. The forum will still remain online though for the time being.
-edit-
I now made an official announcement to clear it up for anyone else:

To be able to play with this game in the future, it is now a question of archiving your downloaded game, DLC's, downloaded missions, your profile folder, license keys, etc.
-
It's good practice indeed to locally store any DLC and other content that one has purchased. As far as I know, there are no plans do pull down the website so all content should be available for a while, but even that may end at some point. And when it happens, those locally saved files come in handy.
License keys should be locally saved by default, considering their importance. So if anyone hasn't yet. Please do so. ;)

Hi Robin,
The link you post above does not work. Unfortunately a message comes up to say that the message is:- "missing or off limits for you." ???
Angus.
-
huh that's weird. It's posted within the FAQ and Announcements board. Can you enter this board at all?
-
Hi Robin,
I do not have the FAQ and Announcements board any more, only the General Support board now.
Angus.
-
How odd... Can you see it now?
-
Hi Robin,
I now have it again now. I have no idea why it disappeared, but it's not been there for me for a while. I think since the General Support board started. :-\ ???

Back on topic, yes this forum used to be an enjoyable place, with fun, games and good humour..
Those were the days.. ;)
-
Indeed. Especially around the CCC this forum was pretty lively. I agree with some that it would be better if the game went out with a bang instead of a slow fade. No one likes vague stuff.
@Angus,
Apparently all permissions were disabled except for the regular members. Not sure why that happened.

To revive this game we all should advert this game on our Facebookpages.
-
Its a shame what has happened but you know, we can all hope Vstep will return one day! For now though... :sleepy:
-
I think the only way to revive this game is if VSTEP picks it up again, which they don't intent to do.
-
Mind you having worked with companies of a reasonable size before, they can intend one thing, then suddenely the whole plan the company had is changed, sometimes literally overnight as in my experience! :P It can be down to a number of factors, however usually its related to a manager or executive leaving and the replacement having a completley different idea of things!
We can only hope... ;)

Its just sooo sad to see this happen to a good series of games....... :'( :'( :'( thanks Rob for being honest and giving the info about.

I've been around for wuite awhile but found myself playing NAUTIS now. But doesn't make a multiplayer community. I've been trying to play SSE a bit but not much cause MP servers are no longer up.
-
Has Vestep take down the official Multiplayer Server?
-
Hi betone,
This will clear the matter up for you.
