Title: Brief maintenance tomorrow morning
Post by: Mr Robville on December 16, 2015, 09:16:47
Hi everyone,

There's some brief maintenance planned tomorrow around 09:00 PM GMT (10:00 AM in the Netherlands)
The forum will be down for a moment and should be back online shortly after.

If anyone notices any issues on the forum after this maintenance, please send me a PM.

On Wednesday 27th September 2017 all our servers and services were moved to another server.
Although the maintenance window was limited to a few minutes, it seems it has affected the availability of some of our in-game functionality.

The hosting provider is looking into these issues and we expect them to resolve them very soon.

Update Oktober 2nd: Unfortunately the cause of the failure has not yet been found. When more information is available we will submit a new posting.

Update Oktober 6th: The cause for the issue has been discovered. The solution cannot be provided by the hosting provider, but only by the VSTEP developers. The options for that will be internally discussed next week.

Update Oktober 24th: We understand that the progress is slow on this subject. Getting our old development platform back to a working condition to resolve the issue is proving to be quite a difficult task. We hope to have a solution ready by next week, but this is merely an indication based on the first test we have over the last days.

To resolve the communications error between Ship Simulator Extremes and our new hosting provider it is required to update a file from the Ship Simulator Extremes game.

First of all you need to have your game updated to the latest updates: v1.5.5, v1.5.6 or v1.5.7
Attached file (sendpostdata.dll) needs to be upzipped and placed in the Channels folder, which can be found in the game's installation directory. Note that it should ask you to overwrite the existing file.

Special note for Steam users:
Since our publisher no longer supports the game, we are unable to update the Steam version of our game, this means that Steam will not update this file automatically.

The only method of using this update via Steam is to start Steam, enable the Offline mode through the menu and then perform above-mentioned file exchange. It is very likely that this exchange needs to be done every time Steam is started and each time after working in Online mode.
