oh, it looks good...does it do something special than other tugs do?

Hi Salty,
Have you downloaded the "Types of tug"  from the Community Development CP1.2 file?

http://forum.shipsim.com/index.php/topic,30681.0.html

You are able to convert "Bugsier 2" and "Cratus" into rotor tugs. It is a really good addition to the game.

Regards,
Angus.

Thanks for the link Angus, I shall read it carefully and let you know how I get on.. :)
By the way, I noticed yesterday the towing-lights on the Bugsier change when you click on 'switch direction' (second from top)

Hi again Salty.
I attach two pictures of "Bugsier 2" as a rotor tug. the first one shows her underwater layout & the second one she is travelling sideways to port. As you point out the lights on B2 change depending which way she is travelling, very neat the way that is fixed.
Great fun to play these differing tug types.

Kind regards,
Angus.

A thought just occurred to me; can these modified tugs be used in MP ?
If not, as much fun as they may be to sail, they would not have the actual ability to tow/dock ships.
Then I hope there will be an official 'tug-pack' of sorts in the future, and dedicated MP server(s) of course.. :)

Hi Salty,
If you are using a re-skinned tug then you will see her as you have made her but other players will see the original version. However if you are using  one of the "Types of tug", she will behave as you drive her and will also show the same performance to other players. If you think about it, other players do not see your controls, only the way your ship moves about. I hope I make sense for you!

Regards,
Angus.

I finally was successful in modifying the Bugsier 2 to a rotor tug.  I had some trouble with WinRar, but a useful link from Mr. Robville in another topic worked very well.

Many thanks Angus, for your help and advice.   :)

You may want to tone it down a little. (suggestive) Death wishes will not be taken lightly. Joking or not.

I'd love to see your typical cabin cruiser that you see at ports every year at the beach when you go on day trips.  That would be awesome to see in the simulator. :)

Hi ridgw003,

The new research ship will be named "Sir David Attenborough" not "Boaty McBoatface" (Thankfully common sense prevailed!!!)

Angus.

Hi Jagge,
It would be great if this were possible, but sadly all development of the game/s has stopped.
Do you still work for ACL? The Company has opened it's new head office in Liverpool's Duke Street. The first shipping office built here for many years. I was quite thrilled to know that the G4 class of new ships are now registered in Liverpool, again something completely new. They are the first big ships to be registered here for many years. As a Liverpool man who worked for many years with the Harrison Line of Liverpool, ( Company cap badge on the left) all this news is very good as I regret the demise of the many Liverpool Companies which no longer exist.
You will, I feel sure, be aware that "Atlantic Sea", the third of the G4 ships was named by our Princess Anne at the Liverpool cruise terminal, Pierhead, recently. I was sad to hear that there were no Liverpool seafarers on the ship, but there are very few around now.

Kind regards,
Angus,
