So I went on Marine traffic today and whilst looking for the postition of the Cunard ship Queen Elizabeth, I noticed that the QE2 is still in range of the system. I would have though the AIS was turned off a long time ago, but then I looked at the details and saw this:

Destination: Odessa (Isn't that in Ukraine?)
ETA: 7th July 2014
Has anyone else heard of this move? ??? I thought she was to become a floating hotel in Dubai (ok I know they've being saying it for years...) but a move to Ukraine? Especially with what's going on there right now :-\

I'm now wondering if the destination thing is the Ukrainian crew messing around with the system or is a threat to the owners :-\ (god knows how they'd know how to fire her up and sail her though)

I'm suprized with it going to Ukrain with the recent unstablility- sending a very important ship to somewhere where the situation can change very quickly is not a great idea!

In Ukraine is a strike. See report of QE 2. Open: clippingnews@maasmondmaritime.com d.d. 23-05-2014 nr. 123
