Good evening.
since I installed Ship Simulator extremes, when I sail in the harbor I can not see the waves coming from the bow of the ship, but if I leave the harbor I can see the waves, also if I sail in calm waters.
why?
thanks Luca :( :( :(
-
I can't see the problem but I'll try to help you! well if you mean the waves in the harbor then i say that everything is ok because the waves in a port are not big so they are not white...on the other hand if you mean the foam at the bow then the speed of the ship is maybe low so the foam does not exist...As I said before everything is unclear...Anyway I hope I've helped you
-
I think he means that in harbour there are no bow waves from the vessel as opposed to the bow waves at sea.
-
 I really don't know what he means...I just say what I think
-
Sorry for the wait ...
But I still have the problem
If you watch this video you can see the waves of the boat :(
:Ship Simulator Extremes Gameplay: http://youtu.be/AF88QG4cV4Y
But to me when I sail the boat in the harbor does not create waves....why why why?
Sorry for my english but i'am italian....ahah
Thanks Luca

Hi Luka99,
Your ship must be travelling at speed before you will be able to see bow waves. Do you have the latest Graphics driver installed on your computer? If not install the latest one. Finally, are you sure your computer is powerful enough to play the game correctly? If you are sailing "Winner" unfortunately you will not see any white bow waves from her due to the way she is programmed.
Angus.

Yes I have installed the latest graphics driver
I've never had problems with my graphics card
(NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650) ;D
The problem is not 'the speed. because when I reach 18 knots .... in port, the ship doesn't create waves :( :(
In the video you can see that the vessel even at low speed 'creates waves :( :( :(

Hi Luka, have you tried looking at your graphics settings in the game?
When you start the game, go to Options - Graphics - Quality settings - Advanced settings
Maybe you will find a solution there..
-
I have already checked .... but I have the graphics settings to the max ....
I really can not find the problem ??? ??? ???
Thanks Luca
-
So you have the wake quality set to 'high' ? If you change something don't forget to click save settings..
-
  Ahahaha.....Yes, I have pressed save but the problem remains :'( :'(
-
????? :( :( :( :( :(
-
No one knows the solution to my problem? ??? ??? ???

If you register your game in the forum it might be a good idea. Click on "Profile" at the top of this page and enter your licence key number in the box shown there.

Luca, the GTX 650 is a great card, good bang for bucks, but it could be you are asking too much of it by setting all graphics to max.
I would try fiddling around with some of the graphic settings, for instance maybe tune down Anti-Aliasing a bit, etc.
See how that works ;)

No I have not registered the code because they are outside the home. As soon as I get home I try.
Thanks anyway for the advice...

I also have the GTX 650, and I am very happy with it..
The video you posted earlier was perhaps from someone with a high-end card/system..
I'll try out to simulate the video you showed, and report how it looks.. :)

I just tried it in free roam, and there were plenty of bow-waves..
I'm as baffled as you are.. ???
By the way; which version do you have?
Start the game and click on Options. It will show in the lower left corner of the screen.
It should say 1.5.5 (or 1.5.7)

Registering your code was just to show us that you were legit and that you had a legal copy of the game. Now we can help you solve the issue.

Luca, it might be helpful if you posted your dxdiag.
Here is how to do it: http://forum.shipsim.com/index.php/topic,23335.0.html
I also found this topic, in which it appears to be an old problem with Steam versions:
