Title: Thoughts
Post by: CWi on May 23, 2007, 19:59:24
Hello to you all,

I 'm not able to play the demo because my video card isn't fast enough but i saw the game by a friend of mine. And it looks great, but he says that in the editor if you set the windspeed on 2 or 20 knots the water stays calm and it has barrely not effects on the ships!

Then I was thinking: Maybe some of you know Trainz. A lot of people are making trains, buildings, sings, cars enz, enz. Wil Ship sim became also that kind of community?

I'm living near the south-western part of the Netherlands and you got there the Westerschelde from Flussing to Antwerp. Its a water with a lot of  sand banks and currents, up to 5 knots, will it be possible to inplant it in the game? It has its effect on the ships?

And what about locks and swing-bridges, is it possible to make those thinks working or is that to much to ask

Coen

In SS06, you are not to do such complex things I believe. SS08 on the other hand, should be much more realistic and you can controll the wind, waves, and outlying scenery. 8)
