Title: Maneuvering Skills SS 2008 POR Aground?
Post by: jetboatcap on December 31, 2012, 06:09:27
Just purchased 2008, and was trying out a mission called "Maneuvering Skills", which has us operate the Pride of Rotterdam to a mooring. Everything went very well for me, until I had the ship alongside, in the slip. I went to back it, the final few meters to the dock by the stern, and it stopped moving. The ship was still not backed completely to the dock, and the mission wouldn't allow all the mooring line requirements to be met. I made the mistake of thinking that I had secured stern mooring lines, and bow and spring mooring lines, too early. So, I disconnected all the mooring lines, and tried backing again, even applying full throttle, to no avail. Finally, I noticed that the depth indicators were showing just over 2 meters; bow and stern.

Did I run aground? Does tide effect this program? I took a long time to ensure that I caused no damage. Maybe too long. Maybe the tide changed, and I was supposed to have more water during the docking. I have seen a few posts regarding the POR, on Extremes, as having a maneuvering glitch, where a patch was required.

Any suggestions?
