there is a lot of space out there...
It would take at least five years to get to proxima centauri (closest star to Earth) - and that would require you to be travelling at near lightspeed

cave paintings sometimes depict UFO's.
as to answer the question thrown out before... yes aliens have visited Earth.
in fact, they're all over this planet.
want to see one?
than walk down the street. look at a magazine. ride a bus. visit a zoo.
if life on planets beyond earth are classified as aliens, than we are aliens too, along with all the other plants and animals.
so maybie you'll stop thinking of aliens as only little green men or big headed wierdos. because we are aliens too.

I don;t doubt there is other life in the universe...
however if they were to be able to visit us they would have to be very intelligent and have very high technological level
I think there is probably a lot of life on the microbe level

this is a very interesting topic and all, but i don't think people should make such a big deal about aliens.
say im on the brekwater one busy day and a UFO lands right at the lighthouse. i guess everyone would be like, "O MY GOD!!!! THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE OVER OUR PLANET AND PROBE US!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!"
and the army and air force and national guard and whatnot would arrive in tanks and apache helicopters and military hummers and it would look like that part in the blues brothers when they get caught.
but i'd be just like, "hey, it's cool. just some life from god knows where. but we should'nt jump to conclusions and think they're going to harm us. MIB, MIIB, Sighns, Independence Day, AvP, and other alien movies are racist. they make extra-terrestrial life forms look like scary monsters that want only to kill us. chillax, everyone."

Anything in the sky though would be detected by RADAR - so someone would notice it...

Saw a very luminos big scary blue light from my yard at night around 1:00 AM
I kept watching it for almost 2 hours
I did not move not a single inch....it was very quite outside..the light did NOT make any sound at all
And in like 3 seconds it disapeared without a single trace and sound
I never told anyone i saw something

i saw what i thought was at first a plane. there were three white lights and two red ones on either side.

after a while, it began to move slowly and the white lights became red.
15 minutes later, 3 C-130 Hercules planes chased it away.
another time, i swear to god i saw a "star" that changed color and shape.
one night I was home alone, watching tv, when i saw a big can-shaped object fly by at a low speed. a yellow light was on the bottom and two lit bands wrapped around it.
sometimes i see what look like planes, except they hover, or have differant lights. i'm pretty familiar with the light arrangement of large aircraft.
i tell people what i see, and they think it's complete bull s***. nobody, not even my friends, family, or girlfriend, believe me.

Of course there are Aliens visiting the planet, life on earth was created by an asteroid who hit the planet by "accident", so here we are. Actually there were a total of 2 giant space monster sized asteroids, 1st one gave life, second one wiped out the Dinosaurs and tweaked things a bit. Oh and there will be a 3rd one in 2056 predicted by Russian scientists, unless someone launches a Nuclear Warhead to alter the course of the rock otherwise I will alter the course of this life two for the 3rd time in a row :doh: :thumbs:

where'd you hear about it? if you got that info from NatGeo or the History Channel, then it has to be real. ;D

earth is like the island in Lost, and humans are the plane crash survivors. this island has too many secrets. magnetic core (massive electromagnet), beasts we probably don't know about (smoke monster), strange life that was here first (the "others"), even stranger life that could be watching us right now (the Dharma corperation), etc.
as you can see, i love lost. too bad i only have seasons 1 & 2.

i don't watch lost online. only on DVD. online shows tend to freeze my computer and they usually have bad graphics. but with DVD's, you can never go wrong.
by the way, who is your favorite lost character? mine's Hurley.

yeah. what if someone built an epic flying model ufo from scratch and wanted people to notice it. so he flew it with a remote control over the road in front of the news guy's car so he would make an announcement about it on the morning news. because alot of people picture ufos as "flying saucers" all the time, which is rediculous. not all are hovering pieplates with e.t. inside.
btw: i saw this episode of Monk where this guy in nevada made a remote control ufo and used it to attract nerds to some town to keep people from finding his ex-wife's dead body in the desert.
who here also watches Monk and thinks its great?
